Data Forestry
Goal: A game that can record data.
Theory: A simple game loop can create any data structure.

I’m assuming that no-one will read this but me, but maybe if my coding goals pan out, people might want to know what I was thinking when I was building it.

It evolves by request - sometimes into something better. Currently using Sonnet 4.5.
It’s a database that can be edited from the keyboard.
Theoretically it is an infinitely fractal database.
The trick is making it easy and fun to expand the database into any kind of structure.
It needs effortless navigation - allow the user to travel around an infinitely expandable forest of facts.
There’s lots of code that could theoretically make this happen.
I just have to find it in the infinite realm of the possible.
It has to be fun. There must be a data entry game.
This is quite fun to work with - I think it needs keyboard only data entry.
But I don’t want to have to use the keyboard to rearrange the parts.
It needs to scale child items by their parent, and make child branches smaller than their parent.
It also needs the ability to zoom in and out.
I think I will be telling Claude about this problem.
🌱 Dataseed — Talking Your Ideas Into Existence
What if you could build software just by talking to it?
Not by writing code, but by describing what you want — and watching it take shape.
That’s what Dataseed is about.
It’s a tiny chat-based system where every message becomes a living part of your database.
💬 How It Works
You start with nothing — an empty space.
Then you type commands that feel like natural language, but they actually create structure:
NEW_DB({name:"projects"})
ADD_TABLE({name:"ideas", fields:["name","status","notes"]})
SET("projects.ideas.1.name", "AI Chat Shell")
Everything you say is stored as JSON files in folders — simple, transparent, and easy to clone or modify.
You can edit old commands, re-run them, and the system updates instantly.
It’s like talking to a database that remembers everything.
🧩 What You Can Build
Because everything is just structured data, you can make anything:
A personal note garden like Obsidian
A shared brainstorming hub
A lightweight app builder
Even an interactive world made of linked “things”
Each space you create can grow new behaviors — pages, prompts, visual layouts — all from chat.
⚙️ Why It’s Cool
Dataseed isn’t a product — it’s a bootstrap for ideas.
It gives you a place to start, where every conversation becomes code and every experiment can grow into something real.
It’s meant for builders, thinkers, and tinkerers — people who like to see how ideas connect, evolve, and come alive.
